IMQG 2014 Membership

As many of you know, the Modern Quilt Guild has formalized its membership.  The IMQG Board has determined that this was also the best course for our local guild.   We will benefit in many ways from being a member of the national guild.   Here are the benefits as listed by the MQG:
  • discounted entry fees for MQG quilt shows
  • discounted rates on conferences and events
  •  priority and early-bird registration for conferences and events
  • discounts and special offers with MQG sponsors, legal fees and affiliated companies
  • opportunities to participate in inter-guild swaps and challenges
  • involvement in MQG fabric challenges
  • membership cards
  • official member blog button
  • membership pins
  • 10% discount on online MQG merchandise purchases
We've been told that lots of challenges will be coming in the next year!  As a local guild, we will fall under the MQG 501(c)(3) designation, which may broaden our access to public meeting rooms.

The IMQG application available here should be returned with membership dues.  Dues are $30 a year.  We will be applying for membership with MQG as of January 1, 2014.  After we become members of MQG, each IMQG member will receive an e-mail to complete their enrollment in the national guild.  At that point, you will be a member of both the Indy Modern Quilt Guild as well as the national guild.

Please mail your application to the address on the membership form, along with your $30 dues.  If you have any questions, email them to indymodernquiltguild@gmail.com.  Bylaws are available here.  The MQG also has a website at themodernquiltguild.com.
If you do not wish to become a member at this time that is entirely up to you.  This blog as well as our facebook page will still be maintained and open to non-members and members alike.
