2014 Charity Quilt for Julian Center - Blocks Need

So it's official we picked the charity for the 2014 charity quilt - the official winner was the Julian Center. They have an auction upcoming this September so we are target to complete the quilt in it's entirety by September 1.   At the last meeting it was determined that we would do a String Block Quilt in Warm/Cool colors. With that said here's the details on how you can help...

  • Create a String Block or Blocks using this tutorial
  • Center String should be be Kona Coal - we will have cut strips at the May meeting
  • One side of strings should be using warm (red, yellow, pink, orange) colored scraps
  • The other side should be using cool (blue, green, purple, indigo) colored scraps (Updated: sample block does now show warm/cool).
  • A Finished blocks should be 7x7
  • Blocks can be submitted to Darcie Mair or any of the IMQG Leadership team thru the end of June.  They can be dropped off at the May or June Meetings as well.
Additionally we also need donations for batting, binding, backing and if anyone wants to volunteer to quilt it we are all game for that.
