January Meeting Update

Fabric Swap & Supplies to Bring for Lindsay's Demonstration!

For the January meeting, we will be doing a fabric swap! Here are the details for what to bring:

-Colors: Purple, Pink, and Gray (*Hint: These colors may show up in future block lotto blocks*)

-Sizes: Any sized scraps are fine.

-Fill up a quart sized baggie of the various chosen colors and sizes.

-You may bring up to 2 baggies to swap.

At the meeting we will also have speaker Lindsay Lefevere do a demonstration on interface piecing. Lindsay says this method is "MAGICAL", so you won't want to miss it! It is used for precision and tiny piecing. More on this technique from Lindsay at the meeting. :)

Here is a list of supplies to bring if you would like to play {sew} along.

-9 or 16 squares or HSTs you want to piece into a block (to make a 9 patch or 16 patch block) All squares should be the same size.

-A square of lightweight, single-sided fusible interfacing. A 12.5" square should be big enough.

-Cutting Tools: a small cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler (a 4x13 ruler is big enough). We can share these items, so if yours aren't mobile, don't worry.

-Machine & Neutral thread

-Either a walking foot and heavy duty "jeans" needle or a 1/4" foot and universal needle. Everyone's machine is different, so bring both if you have them to see which works for your machine.

-If your machine is not mobile, don't worry, we can share and take turns on machines so feel free to bring the other items listed.

-An ironing station will be provided.
